Environmental Conflicts

As a student of agronomy I'll have to take care about environmental conflicts, such as problems which affect the production of harmless vegetables and fruit. The water and air contamination affect food production because they harm the  ground when acid rain finds its place. Then, the plant species are not able to produce high quality and innocuous fruits, including that they may absorb the ground’s contamination.
In some parts of Chile there are some mining companies who extract different minerals like copper, gold and silver, to name some. The extraction most of the time generates toxic gases that stay in the air, like SO2.
The people who live in Quintero suffered the consequences of contamination caused by a dysregulation between some mining companies that extract minerals and the government. In Chile are some laws that protect the extraction of minerals instead of the production of food and the protection of the environment and the most injured are the animals and the people.

I think that the government has to regulate and take more care in this kind of problems if we want people with a better health and more places to produce, making sure that the pieces of land we have are safe. The economy is something important that every country has to take care about, but if it injures people and the environment it loses its good side.Image result for fruta contaminada con residuosImage result for intoxicacion quintero

  1. "In Chile are some laws that protect the extraction of minerals instead of the production of food" is a shame that they only care about the gains but not of the people's health

  2. I agree. Government has to take place in these themes. I still can't believe that Ministry of Enivonment was created on 2010. It should have been created a long time ago!

  3. It is awful that the government cares only about the money.

  4. Government should worry more and the people make more social pressure on these issues
