English language challenges

Going to university made me missed my old english lessons and talking to exchange students at school as I usually used to. I started learning english at 7 years old and I never stopped the practice until I went to university, where my first semester was in a lack on english and others languages to learn. Having the opportunity to take the english course this semester made me feel complete while practising english in all areas: writing, reading and talking. Although I always read some news, magazines and posts in internet that are written in this language, it was good to have again this kind of tasks of reading comprehension. The main aspect of my english that has to be improved is speaking, I think I have some problems with the pronunciation and I also that I get a little bit nervous when I talk in this language to unknown people. I also want to learn some english related to my career, like economics or something related with plants. Outside the english class I’m using englis

Changes to my study program

First of all, the career of Agriculture takes care about different areas, like fruit and vegetable production, economics, edaphology, irrigation improvement and phyto virology, to name some. This career offers lots of approaches, but I think that in my faculty the area of economics should be improved. A teacher once told me that some students of my university sometimes produce without thinking who will buy the fruit, yogurts, drinks and others things. He also said that the other apartments dislike the idea of having economy in this faculty because it is so capitalist, and I have heard from some students the same comments. Well, focusing in what I think and not what my economics teacher said, I still believe that this area have to be improved, not only because I like it, but to have a better idea of what working in an enterprise and also for the government  will be. Talking about english classes, I think that my faculty should offer us more levels of english and that they may also be

Personal Opinion

Well, talking about immigration, I would like to write about the Immigration Pact of ONU, the one that Chile didn’t accept. I think Chile did a good job by rejecting this agreement, because our country has to take care about its people. I agree with immigration, but not when thousands of people come without home and jobs. Chile has a percentage of poverty that the country has to worry about, so, why do Chile have to receive too much people who will live in worse conditions? I mean, some immigrants come and rent apartments meant for a family of 4, but then they invite the whole family and then the owner is surprised by having almost 15 persons living in the apartment. A few months ago, the congress agree with the idea of giving the “march bonus” of money to immigrants who haven’t at least 2 years of residence. I think this kind of decisions make chileans angry, not the idea that foreign people come here to “steal the jobs” or that most people who come are black people. Chile was

Environmental Conflicts

As a student of agronomy I'll have to take care about environmental conflicts, such as problems which affect the production of harmless vegetables and fruit. The water and air contamination affect food production because they harm the  ground when acid rain finds its place. Then, the plant species are not able to produce high quality and innocuous fruits, including that they may absorb the ground’s contamination. In some parts of Chile there are some mining companies who extract different minerals like copper, gold and silver, to name some. The extraction most of the time generates toxic gases that stay in the air, like SO 2. The people who live in Quintero suffered the consequences of contamination caused by a dysregulation between some mining companies that extract minerals and the government. In Chile are some laws that protect the extraction of minerals instead of the production of food and the protection of the environment and the most injured are the animals and the peo
